ICCI 2005
The ICCI 2005 International Congress on Computational Intelligence is a
high-quality, high-impact Computational Intelligence conference, held at
the Corporación Universitaria del Sinu at Montería, Colombia. The ICCI
2005 is organized by The Colombian Network of Computational
Intelligence, Red CIC, an international organization dedicated to the
promotion of scientific research and industrial development in the
Computational Intelligence area.
The upcoming meeting in this conference series follows the great success
of ICCI 2001 and ICCI 2003 held in the Universidad Nacional de Colombia
at Medellin. The aim of ICCI 2005 is to bring together researchers and
practitioners from diverse fields, such as computer science, information
technology, business, education, human factors, system engineering,
electric-electronic engineering and industry to (1) examine the design
principles and performance characteristics of various approaches in
Computational Intelligence technology, and (2) increase the
cross-fertilization and applications of ideas on the development of
Computational Intelligence systems in different domains in Colombia and
Latin America. The nature of Computational Intelligence is that there is
a wide diversity of techniques and applications and it is hoped that
this diversity will be exhibited in the papers accepted.
PAPER SUBMISSION
* High-quality papers in all CI related areas are solicited, among
which, papers exploring new directions will receive a careful and
supportive review.
* All submitted papers will be peer reviewed on the basis of technical
quality, relevance, significance, and clarity. After acceptance for
presentation the papers will be published in the proceedings (provided
that at least one author is registered for the conference).
* Proposals for special sessions/workshops are welcome. Persons
interested in organising a session/workshop should contact the program
chairs.
* To submit your manuscript take into account that:
o ICCI 2005 will accept ONLY on-line submission of papers, of up to
8 pages, written in English or Spanish.
o The only accepted formats for submissions are Postscript or PDF
formats.
Further submission instructions are provided in the conference web site.
STUDENT BEST PAPER AWARD COMPETITION
Two categories (undergraduate and postgraduate) will be considered for
The Student Best Paper Award Competition. The first listed author of each
paper is the student who will make the oral presentation. Only
contributions with a maximum of 3 co-authors will be considered.
The student must have contributed at least with the 50% of the
scientific work. All participating papers must be accompanied by the
advisor's
nomination. The nominated papers will be reviewed through the usual
review process and by a panel of experts chosen from the Program
Committee. Based on these reviews, five papers for each category will be
selected as finalists for the Awards. The winners of the student best
paper competition will be
selected at the conference and will be based on both the written paper
and the final oral presentation by the student. The winners will be
announced at the conference closing session. A written certification
will be awarded to the winners.
