			CALL FOR PARTICIPATION
----------------------------------------------------------------------

GECCO-2002 will present the latest results in the growing field of
genetic and evolutionary computation. GECCO continues the tradition of
bringing together the entire spectrum of research in genetic and
evolutionary computation, including genetic algorithms; classifier
systems; genetic programming; evolvable hardware; DNA and molecular
computing; evolutionary strategies; evolutionary programming;
evolutionary scheduling; artificial life, adaptive behavior, agents,
and ant colony optimization; as well as real-world applications of all
of these areas.

GECCO features three days of peer-reviewed paper presentations, twelve
in-depth workshops, twenty-nine tutorials presented by recognized
experts, and a special track on Evolutionary Computation in Industry.

Each of the papers accepted to GECCO was rigorously reviewed, in a
double-blind review process, by one of the separate and independent
program committees specializing in various aspects of genetic and
evolutionary computation.

 ** REGISTER NOW
You can register to GECCO by mail, fax, or online. Registration
forms are available at
http://www.isgec.org/GECCO-2002/registration.html

 ** INVITED KEYNOTE SPEAKERS
David Leinweber, California Institute of Technology,
"Evolutionary Algorithms in the Financial Markets"

Laura F. Landweber, Princeton University,
"Computing with DNA and RNA in vivo and in vitro"

** TWELVE FREE WORKSHOPS -- July 9 (Tuesday)
In addition to a Graduate Student Workshop, twelve other workshops on
a variety of EC-related topics will be held at GECCO.
Workshop attendance is open to all registered conference attendees at
no extra charge, and all attendees will receive a paper-bound book
with all workshop materials.

 ** TWENTY-NINE FREE TUTORIALS -- July 10 (Wednesday)
Recognized experts in genetic and evolutionary computation will
deliver tutorials on a variety of introductory and advanced topics.
All tutorials are open to registered attendees, who will receive a
paper-bound book with copies of all tutorial notes at no extra charge.

 ** EVOLUTIONARY COMPUTATION IN INDUSTRY -- July 11-12 (Thu-Sat)
In addition to the regular peer-reviewed Real-World Applications
sessions, there will be a special track featuring invited and
contributed tutorials and case studies from industry dedicated to
applications of evolutionary computation. This special track provides
a forum for practitioners to share their experiences on real life EC
project implementation. Attendance is open to all registered GECCO
attendees. The papers and presentations in this track will be
collected in a special paper-bound book, which will be distributed to
all conference attendees at no extra charge. For more information,
contact the organizers David Davis (david.davis@nutechsolutions.com)
and Rajkumar Roy (r.roy@cranfield.ac.uk).

 ** MEMBERSHIP IN ISGEC
You can also join now the International Society for Genetic and
Evolutionary Computation for $120, which entitles you to $100 savings
on the registration fee and annual subscriptions to two journals:
Evolutionary Computation and Genetic Programming and Evolvable
Machines. For more info visit www.isgec.org.
