applications. The conference is aimed primarily at topics which have

immediate practical benefits. By hosting the conference in the

developing nations in Asia it aims to provide a forum for engaging

both the academic and the commercial sector in that region.

The first conference 'Information Technology Prospects and Challenges'

(ITPC-2003) was held in May 2003 in Kathmandu, Nepal. This year the

conference name has changed to Asian Applied Computing Conference to

reflect both the regional and application oriented nature of the

conference.

The theme in this year's conference will be on the following

topics. Other topics that have industrial and regional relevance would

be considered.

Systems and Architectures

- high Performance computing

- parallel and distributed computing

- cluster and network computing

- grid computing

Mobile and Ubiquitous Computing

- mobile communication and computing

- location management

- ad hoc networking

- context aware computing

- sensor networks

- smart devices

- power management
