EJOR FEATURE ISSUE on "EVOLUTIONARY AND META-HEURISTIC SCHEDULING"

***** CALL FOR PAPERS *****

EUROPEAN JOURNAL OF OPERATIONAL RESEARCH

FEATURE ISSUE on "EVOLUTIONARY AND META-HEURISTIC SCHEDULING"

In recent years, there has been a significant level of research interest
in evolutionary and meta-heuristic approaches for solving large real
world scheduling problems which are often complex, constrained and
multicriteria in nature. Typical examples of such problems include
production scheduling, vehicle routing, personnel rostering, educational
timetabling etc. This special issue invites submissions in all areas of
evolutionary and meta-heuristic scheduling. Our understanding of the
term "evolutionary and meta-heuristic" will be as wide as possible.
Topics of special interest include, but are not limited to, the
following:

- New theory, practice and benchmarks for evolutionary and
meta-heuristic scheduling

- Multi-objective evolutionary and meta-heuristic scheduling

- Dynamic evolutionary and meta-heuristic scheduling

- Development of evolutionary/meta-heuristic approaches to handle
uncertainty

- Evolutionary and meta-heuristic scheduling approaches which interface
with disciplines beyond operational research (e.g., Artificial
Intelligence)

- Hybridization of evolutionary/meta-heuristic methods with other
approaches

- Evolutionary/meta-heuristic approaches that deal with real world
problems

Submission

Manuscripts should be prepared following the format standards of the
EJOR. All submissions will be peer reviewed subject to the standards of
the EJOR. Manuscripts based on previously published conference papers
must be extended substantially. To be considered for the special issue,
prospective authors should submit their complete manuscript in softcopy
(PDF file format) to Dr KC Tan at eletankc@nus.edu.sg.
